Hair basic

This tutorial was made in PSP 8 but can be done using other paint programs that support layers and  lighten/darken tools

Needed

Base - CLICK HERE. The base used in this tutorial is owned by Anki of Dollz n Stuff. Please read the rules for using this base at Dollz n Stuff.  In this tutorial we make a kind of basic hairstyle. At the end you can finish it the way you want. I'll give you some examples :)

Add a new layer and draw the outlines of your hair in the darker color. Fill the inside with a lighter color than the outlines.
Select Paint Brush Lighter/Darker () (with the following settings: Size: 1, Hardness: 0, Opacity: 100) Push the rightmouse button then you draw the shadows (darker colors) in your hair.  Without the rightmouse button you'll have highlights (lighter colors). Draw de highlights as shown in the example

Select Paint Brush Lighter/Darker () (with the following settings: Size: 5, Hardness: 0, Opacity: 90) and draw the extra highlights in your hair. To make the hair more 'excited' you can draw some extra highlights as shown in the second example. Do not forget to change the size of your brush to 1.
Add a new layer and place this layer under the layer of your base and draw the outlines of your hair in the darker color. Fill the inside with a lighter color than the outlines.

Draw here also the schadows and highlights as described above. Copy the layer, mirror it and put it in place.

And your hair is finished :) But do not merge the layers, you might want another model? Save your file and let's start modelling :)
Copy f.e. the upperlayer and move the lowest upwards

or leave out one of the hairlayers

or copy the upperlayer, mirror it and move the backhair upwards

The possibilities are enormous, just copy, paste, move and erase. But offcause you can also use this hairbase to extend your hair to longer hair. Make a new layer for each hairpiece and use the same basic colors and techniques.
